Simple Mantel Decor for Christmas

We are continuing the holiday decorating and we have come to one of my favorites, the mantel! I love to have a glamourous mantel setup and having some fire burning and enjoying time with my family. It’s a  good focal point when having family and guests over to tie in the Christmas Spirit to the rest of the room. I have always felt adding greenery of any sort makes a home feel more comforting and inviting. That’s why I try and add it anywhere I can. Decorating it was very simple because who has time for anything else, not me!  Coming up with different areas to decorate will really impress anyone who comes in but only you know how simple it really was.

Neeley started out by draping two of the faux garlands I got from Amazon across the mantel leaving enough length on each side. I went through and added some red berries to add a pop of color. I bought fresh baby pinecones for the mailbox in my last post and used it for this as well. It brings a very outdoor and natural feel to the faux garland. Lastly, we popped over to our wholesale dealer for some greenery.

One thing I did learn on the last projects is that there are different types of Magnolia trees, ones where the under side is green and ones where the underside are brown. All of the pretty wreaths, garlands and floral arrangements, etc usually have the brown underside on them.  My neighbor has a tree like that and I’m always eyeing her greenery from my kitchen window…garden envy for sure! Magnolia leaves are so pretty to me, so I love adding them any chance I get. One last tip for magnolia leaves though, you can spray paint them gold to add a dressier vibe.

I was going for a affordable yet rustic look because this room that has the fire place is covered in windows! Perfect view of the forest behind so I continued that theme in the rest of the room.  Since the branches are made of wire its very easy to slip the leaves and branches into the greenery with no further attachments! Yep its that easy, a simple way to glam up any room in your house. Its stylish yet practical, and you can use for many years by just spicing it up with different add ins or ribbon!
